This past weekend we took Reagan back to the park on the end of the runway at Reagan National Airport. This time the wind was coming out of the opposite direction, so the planes were landing over us instead of taking off over us. Reagan had an absolute blast. She would get so excited as each one approached and went overhead. She would jump up and down and run around, squealing.
Ok, we didn’t go there just for her. There is a paved biking/walking trail that runs along the George Washington Parkway. The previous weekend we parked south of the airport and explored northward and ended up at the park at the end of the runway on the north side of the airport. This time we parked at that northern end and explored the trail further northward. We were able to observe the Washington Monument and the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials from the west side of the Potomac. Rain was moving in on us so we didn’t get to go very far this time.
As of this posting, we are still waiting to hear whether or not our offer has been accepted on a townhome. It is a short sale, so the process is a bit more drawn out. The bank countered our original offer, which we countered. It took just over a week for the bank to respond to our original offer. It has now been about a week and a half since we countered their counter. Of course, we are in no hurry because the lease on our apartment doesn’t end until August 31. We’ll keep you posted if we hear anything new.
